Steven A. Gornick
Senior Consulting Reservoir Engineer
Mr. Gornick has 28 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He has recently served as President of East Peak Oil and Gas LLC, where he led the purchase, development and divestiture of the Deep Creek Field in Carbon County, Wyoming. While with QEP, he added approximately 35 MMBOE in reserves from the Spraberry Shale in the Midland Basin by understanding rock mechanics and hydraulic frac’ing optimization. He was the first reservoir engineer hired by Whiting Petroleum, where he built the entire reservoir engineering department. He was the technical lead on all major acquisitions including Kodiak, EOG Bakken and Marathon Bakken. He directed the technical review for all third-party reserve audits and was responsible for all expenditure approvals/advancements company wide. Earlier in his career, he was the Chairman’s Award winner for outstanding contribution for FWE Corp where he re-based the North American business yielding over 200 million dollars in savings. He was an operations manager in the Rocky Mountains and in California where he developed a revolutionary steam flood procedure for profile control in high temperature reservoirs.
Mr. Gornick currently holds a senior consulting role with both Nissan Chemical America (NCA) and ELS, regarding NCA's nanoActiv® product line and their Oil & Gas Division at large.
Mr. Gornick holds an MS in Economics and a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
